Texture & Lighting Basics


The texture of the dirt is hard and grainy.

The texture of the flower is light and fluffy.

The texture of the rocks are hard and firm.
Reflection Questions
1.) The picture that i feel is the best shot of this assignment is the last one, because it gives a lot of detail into the dirt on the rock and under it.
2.) The picture that is the weakest in this assignment is the dirt one because i feel like i could've focused more on the textures. 
3.) I can focus more on details on the weakest image. 
4.) I used Photoshop for the pictures, on the brightness levels, contrast, exposure, and straightening tool. 
5.) I was able to meet the goals by focusing on texture and also applying some rules of photography in the pictures. I was able to enhance the photos with a light source.
6.) The easy thing about this assignment was finding things to photograph. 
7.) What was difficult was finding many different angles.
8.) I would focus even more on texture ...
9.) I would rate my effort on this project a 10/10. I shot a lot of nice pictures.

    I like the photo with the dirt and the different color variations and texture. If the photo were a little darker even more texture would be seen.

    THIS IS A HUGE IMPROVEMENT FROM YOUR FIRST SHOOT! Wow! Your image quality is super focused and clear. Your color and editing is on point. Excellent Job! The one thing you need to work on for future shoots in your composition of objects. You are still placing objecting in the center or close to center. Remember Rule of thirds and Avoid the bullseye (aka NEVER in the center). Can't wait to see what you do in the next shoot.

    I really like the picture with the rocks, it has a great quality. But i feel like you could go closer to the the rocks. The same goes to the other pictures, for you to see the textures.
    Other than that, your pictures are great.

1 2 3 4 5 1 2 3 4 5 The best shot is the lip gloss because the picture in general is vibrant and the subject is right in the middle. The weakest shot is the putty because i could have used a different background for it. The weakest shot can be improved by using a more simple background. I used photoshop to edit the pictures in each layer. I also used the spot healing tool for a lot of corrections. By color sampling, it changes the pictures moods by having a more clear focus on what is being shown. It gives a more relaxed mood. Finding colorful objects was the easiest of this assignment because everything has color. Finding the right backgrounds were the hardest because i dont have many clear backgrounds in my house. If i could redo this assignment i would find more simple backgrounds. I would give myself a 9 because i love all the colorful pictures i took with their setups, but not the backgrounds.

Depth of Field

Low depth of field. Low depth of field. High depth of field. High depth of field. The picture that is the best shot is the flower one because you can see all the details in the dandelion. The weakest picture of this assignment is the last high depth of field picture because there wasn't as much substance in it.  The weakest can be improved by having more to look at. I used photoshop. I used the straighten tool and the filter levels. I was able to meet the goals by taking high and low depth of field pictures. The easiest one to do is high depth of field in my opinion. The easy thing about the assignment was finding things to take pictures of. The hardest part of the assignment was trying to find the right angles for the pictures. If i could do this assignment differently, i would take more photos.  I would rate my effort a 7 because i got lazy halfway through and lost motivation because my iphone screen broke and i had to get it fixed.

Split Loop Rembrandt Butterfly Broad Short 1. Which picture is the best shot of this assignment? Why?  The rembrandt is the best shot of this assignment because of the lights and facial expression. 2. Which picture is the weakest shot of this assignment?  Why? The weakest shot of the assignment was butterfly because of how green it came out. 3. How can the weakest image be improved on in future shoots? The green can be edited more or i could have turned off the green light. 4. Did you use Photoshop, Lightroom, or both?  What tools in the programs did you use to edit the pictures?  I used photoshop to edit levels, curves and brightness. 5.
