Back Lighting

1. I had a hard time deciding which is the best shot, but i think the first edit is because it fits my aesthetic perfectly and im very proud of the way it came out.
2. The second edit is the weaker picture because i feel like it is kind of out of focus, but being out of focus gives it a good shadow effect.
3. The weakest shot can be improved by just me focusing more.
4. I used photoshop for both of them, i used the spot healing tool in the first one to edit out lights and make the shadow completely black, and i added more of a purple filter on them, etc.
5. I met the goals of the assignment by creating shadows that can portray a story through them.We can still tell a narrative in pictures with little detail in them by the way the shadows are placed and what they are doing.
6. The easy thing about this assignment was creating poses and bringing objects into the poses.
7. The hardest thing about this project was to focus my camera with one hand and place all the objects correctly, and to make sure unwanted shadows aren't in the frame.
8. If i could do this assignment differently, i would get pictures outside.
9. I would rate my effort a 10 out of 10 on this project because im really happy with my results and i made sure that every shadow was perfect.
*i tried to make the pictures have an eerie feeling, so yes the darkness/shadows are supposed to be dramatic*.

Texture & Lighting Basics

The texture of the dirt is hard and grainy. The texture of the flower is light and fluffy. The texture of the rocks are hard and firm. Reflection Questions 1.) The picture that i feel is the best shot of this assignment is the last one, because it gives a lot of detail into the dirt on the rock and under it. 2.) The picture that is the weakest in this assignment is the dirt one because i feel like i could've focused more on the textures.  3.) I can focus more on details on the weakest image.  4.) I used Photoshop for the pictures, on the brightness levels, contrast, exposure, and straightening tool.  5.) I was able to meet the goals by focusing on texture and also applying some rules of photography in the pictures. I was able to enhance the photos with a light source. 6.) The easy thing about this assignment was finding things to photograph.  7.) What was difficult was finding many different angles. 8.) I would focus even more on textu...

Composition: Points to Ponder

Leading lines:there are multiple lines that makes you focus on different places. Brightness: this picture was adjusted to fit the perfect light and darkness for the mood. Emphasize foreground: The horizon is above the center. Emphasizes height and distance: the horizon is the floor on the bottom, and it emphasizes the distance from the chair to the ground.  Rule of Thirds: the chair is centered to the right of the picture, being the main focus. Leading Lines: the walkway to the dock makes movement in the picture.  Avoids Bulls-eye: i'm centered in the middle of the picture on eye level. Simplicity: this picture fills the frame. Multiple people: this picture was at a concert showing multiple subjects in the frame.
